Privacy statement

What data we receive from you, what we do with it and what your rights are. Short, and without the small print.

Last updated on 20 October 2026.

Who we are

Flaire B.V., Heliumstraat 38, 2718 SL Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 81757786, is the controller responsible for what this statement describes. Questions about it can go to us at info@flaire.nl or on +31 85 001 4321.

What data we receive

We receive data from you when you get in touch with us yourself, and when you allow us to measure how you use the site; the latter is covered below under cookies and statistics. When you get in touch:

  • If you fill in the contact form, we receive your email address, your phone number if you enter it, your message and the page on which you used the form. You receive a confirmation at that email address yourself.
  • If you talk with Fleur, our AI assistant, and let her share your idea with us, we receive the whole conversation, Fleur's summary, your email address and, if you give it, your phone number. If you don't share it, we never see the conversation. How Fleur works is described below.
  • If you email us, we receive your name, your email address and what you write to us.
  • If you call us, we see your phone number and make a note of what the call was about.

In addition, like every web server, our web server keeps technical log files that include your IP address, the time of your visit and the page you requested. To prevent misuse of the contact form and of Fleur, the server also counts how often they are used from an IP address. It forgets that count after ten minutes, or after an hour for Fleur.

The contact form and Fleur are also protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. As soon as you start filling in the form or Fleur's field, your browser loads a script from Cloudflare that checks, when you send, whether the message comes from a human. To do so, Cloudflare looks at technical data, such as your IP address and characteristics of your browser. Cloudflare does not see what you type.

Fleur, our AI assistant

Fleur is not a person but an AI: she writes her answers with Gemini, a language model from Google. What you type in the conversation therefore goes to Google, which uses it to produce Fleur's answer. We use the paid version of Gemini, under which Google does not use your conversation to train its models. Google does keep it for a limited time to detect misuse, and may also process it outside the European Union.

Our server keeps the conversation only in its working memory, so that Fleur knows what you were talking about. We do not save it to disk or record it in log files. Two hours after your last message the server forgets it; that also happens when we update the website. Fleur asks you herself whether you want to share your idea with us. Only when you say yes and give her your email address does she send the conversation to us, together with that address and, if you give it, your phone number. So don't type anything in the conversation that you would rather not share, such as your national identification number (BSN), medical details or passwords.

Fleur can make mistakes. A price indication from her is a rough first indication, not a quote; we only draw that up together with you.

Cookies and statistics

We want to know which pages are read and how visitors find us, so that we can make the site better. For that we use Google Analytics, but only if you allow it: in the cookie notice with ‘Accept all cookies’, or by switching on ‘Statistics’ under the button with the sliders. If you decline, the site loads nothing from Google Analytics, nothing goes to Google and no cookie is set. The site then works exactly the same.

If you accept, Google Analytics places two cookies whose names begin with _ga. They stay for thirteen months. Google Analytics then sees which pages you view, which site or search brought you here, what kind of device and browser you use and roughly where you are, at the level of country and city. Google derives the latter from your IP address; Google Analytics does not store that address. What you type in the contact form or in the conversation with Fleur does not go to Google Analytics.

We do not use Google Analytics for advertising: advertising cookies, personalised ads and Google signals are switched off. Google processes the data for us as a processor and may also do so in the United States. For that, Google takes part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which the European Commission allows such transfers.

Your browser remembers your choice itself, in its local storage; that is not a cookie. That way the notice does not ask you again on every page. You can change your choice through ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of every page or with the button below. If you withdraw your consent, we also remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

What we use it for

  • To answer your question and, if you wish, to schedule a consultation with you. We do this because you ask us to.
  • To talk with Fleur about your idea and, if you wish, to pass it on to our team. We do this too because you ask us to.
  • To keep the website secure and working: the log files help us detect faults and misuse. That is our legitimate interest.
  • To see with Google Analytics how the site is used, so that we can make it better. We only do this with your consent.

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. Nor do we take decisions about you that are made by a computer alone, without a person looking at them.

How long we keep it

We keep emails, call notes and conversations with Fleur that you pass on to us for as long as we need them to help you. If nothing further comes of it, we delete them no later than two years after the last contact. If it leads to an assignment, we keep what the law requires, such as seven years for our accounts. The web server's log files are cleared automatically. Google Analytics keeps what it links to your visit for two months; after that we only keep totals, such as how often a page has been read.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers we need to make the website and our email work, such as our hosting provider; Postmark, which sends the emails from the contact form and from Fleur for us; Cloudflare, which protects them against spam; and Google, whose language model Gemini writes Fleur's answers and which measures how the site is used with Google Analytics, if you agree to that. We conclude a data processing agreement with each of them: they may use your data only on our behalf and must protect it as well as we do. We do not give it to anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

Your rights

You may access the data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its use or ask us to transfer it to you. To do so, email info@flaire.nl; you will hear from us within four weeks.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If we change this statement, you will see it from the date at the top of this page.
